WINGSWEEP HOME
or PHOTO OVERVIEW BACK TO SELECTED WORKS North of San Diego, east of Temecula, in a glen of large oak trees, gracefully sits a large home that is designed from the site for the site. Three wings spin off the large center living area with the large rock fireplace in front, sweeping into the landscape. another wing descends towards the north with views of the lake from the master suite. The third wing ascends toward the back and becomes a second story with mountain views from three guest bedrooms that can be isolated for reason of saving energy. The walls are of the highest quality wood, and the rock is indigenous to the area. There is a large, double, plastic skylight, for natural light in every room, running down the center of all three wings. The home is ramped from area to area. There is a curved pool, maid's quarters and a large three-car garage on the lower level of the mountain wing just off the kitchen. The exterior doors are glass set in handcrafted wood frames. Cabinets and walls throughout the house are of the fines hardwood handcrafted on-job design-built. Rock walls define the home, grow out of mother earth and merge into and through the inside, intimately joining their relationship in mind and spirit. |
